The 2019 winner of the Tom Bearson Spirit Award is Ava Emmerich!

 

We chose Ava Emmerich out of a large group of candidates from the Central Minnesota area. While reading Miss Emmerich's essay, it was obvious that she took her role as an older sister very seriously and worked hard in school. Ava found an interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) by taking many STEM-related classes. She plans on attending the University of St. Thomas this fall to obtain a bachelor's degree in biochemistry with a minor in general engineering.

During her high school sports career, Ava was an active member of many teams. She played varsity soccer, basketball, and lacrosse, learning lifelong skills as well as making long-term friendships. Miss Emerich also plans to continue playing lacrosse at St. Thomas.

 

We are honored to present the 2019 Spirit Award and a check for $1,500 to Ava Emmerich!
